Heroes of Unconventional World of Sports
Gone
are the days, when football, tennis, cricket or badminton were only sports that
most budding players aimed to leave their marks. Welcome to 2018, era has
already begun where heroes are not only cherished in conventional games, but
are now emerging in the sports that are unheard by most of the old timers.
Millenials, Gen Z are now working on the men new style, latest men fashion trends and inventing new
platforms that for Gen X were a non-entity. We present you the unconventional arenas where
unsung heroes have already created their marks and left a space for others to
benchmark their scores and records. You will have to be really open minded to
take these arenas as the sporting and competing areas or as a challenge.
#Speed Skating – The macho form of ice skating in which the competitors race each other in travelling a certain distance on skates. GenZ is catching up fast on the long track speed skating, short track speed skating, and marathon speed skating. In the Olympic Games, long-track speed skating is called speed skating. Jacobus Johannes "Jaap" Eden is one of those heroes, a Dutch athlete who became the only male athlete to win world championships in both speed skating and bicycle racing!

on Polo – This macho game of horses has made a huge comeback at least with the
Gen Z, the last Championship was hosted in Sydney in 2017 at the Sydney Polo
Club that generated huge fan following amongst the younger generation. Favorites
Argentina Won XI FIP World Polo Championship 2017held on 21-29 October 2017!

Sailing - Sailing as a sport has probably the most number of World Championship
title with well over 100 titles awarded many to two or more people awarded
annually. The popular
categories of sailing is Fleet Racing, wherein
competing boats race around a course while in Match Racing only two identical
boats race against each other.
Match Racing is gaining popularity as it
requires use of thinking, strategy and on-ground tactics. Team Racing is the
racing wherein normally three boats compete against each other. Upcoming
champions are bracing themselves for boat handling skills and rapid tactical
decision making. The Rolex World Sailor of the
Year Awards is supposedly the most prestigious award of recognition in the
dynamic sport of sailing.
Since the awards' inception in 1994, the trophy has
proudly accumulated the names of those who have demonstrated unparalleled endurance,
performance and accomplishment in sailing. Peter Burling is also one of the
heroes in our list, he recently won the Rolex World Sailor of the Year Awards
2017!
